The Cadillac XT4 proves that you don’t need to be around for a long time, just a good time. Having only 6 years on the North American market, this model has seen some changes over its short life.
When this model first debuted, it came in three trim levels. The trims are the Luxury, Premium Luxury, and the Sport. Launched with a 2.0L I4 engine. This engine has a maximum output of 237 horsepower, and 258 lb-ft of torque. All models were paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission, and are available in both AWD, or FWD configurations.
Being that this engine was on every model, you can expect the same mileage. This engine has an EPA rating of 26 MPG combined. Getting 30 MPG on the highway, having a total range of 413 miles on one tank.
No matter the trim level, you’ll be treated to an 8-inch infotainment system that has phone compatibility. While the vehicle does feature a seven-speaker system, a 13-speaker Bose system was also offered, giving you something to keep in mind if you’re an audiophile.
Some new features joined the lineup on 2020 models, all models now have automated emergency braking, forward collision warning, front pedestrian detection, and a safety seat alert.
If you find a Premium Luxury, or Sport model from this year, you are now treated to a hands-free liftgate. This makes it even easier to access the rear of the vehicle without much effort. In 2021, the power liftgate joins the trim, making all trims available with it.
Other new features in 2021 are to the Sport trim. This added red-painted brake calipers to it. While the Premium Luxury trim sees new exterior mirrors with integrated turn signals. 2022 and 2023 were pretty light on features, mainly adding new colors to the lineup. The only new feature that was added is blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
Being that the previous years were light on features, Cadillac came in hot for 2024, breathing some new life into the model. This came with new looks for the interior and the exterior. The biggest change was to the 33-inch infotainment system. This new screen crawls across the dash, making it easy to see exactly what you need. This new infotainment system runs on the latest Cadillac interface, coming with wireless phone connectivity, and powered by Google.
For 2025 models, the Luxury trim was dropped, leaving behind the other two trims. The previously optional Active safety package is now on all trims, giving you access to adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and a surround-view camera.
Unfortunately, the market wasn’t the best for the gorgeous XT4, and it was ultimately discontinued after this most recent model. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t get your hands on one.
