Hitting the market in 2011, this 7th redesign took some styling tips from models from 1968 through 1970. This came with “racetrack” vintage-style taillights, a new dashboard, and silver aluminum wheels. When this model was first released, it came in SE, and R/T trims. The SE was powered by a 3.6L V6 engine that can produce 292 horsepower. The R/T was powered by a 5.7L V8 Hemi that produced 370 horsepower.
When 2012 came around, so did a new trim, as well as an engine. This new trim was the SRT-8, and was powered by the 6.4L V8 Hemi. This engine had a rating of 470 horsepower, and 470 lb-ft of torque.
Over the next few years, the Charger remained mostly the same, only seeing new packages for certain trims. The changes done to the vehicle were mostly cosmetic, with only the Dodge Charger Juiced seeing any meaningful mechanical change. This came equipped with a Viper V10 engine, rated at 650 horsepower.
2014 was a special year for the Dodge brand, this marked the 100 year anniversary of the brand. To commemorate this, Dodge gave the Charger unique cosmetic changes, with new upholstery, new colors, and “100” badging throughout the vehicle.
2015 saw a facelift to the Charger lineup. The refreshed interior comes with a 7-inch display, as well as an 8.4-inch touchscreen radio. Despite the new looks for the model, mechanically, it remains the same. Offering the same engines as before.
Being that the engine, and trim lineup were getting a bit stale, the Charger SRT Hellcat was added to the family. Coming with a 6.2L supercharged Hemi V8 engine, this can produce 707 horsepower, and 650 lb-ft of torque. At release, Dodge claimed that this was the fastest factory four-door sedan ever produced, and when looking at the speeds, we are inclined to believe them. It was able to do a quarter mile in just 11.03-seconds, and able to go 0-60 in 3.78-seconds. This gave sedans a whole new look to the greater vehicle market. This year also introduced the SRT 392, and the R/T Scat Pack. The 392 came with a 6.4L V8 that can make 485 horsepower, while the Scat Pack shares the same engine.
In 2021, the SRT Hellcat Redeye was introduced. It came equipped with a supercharged version of the 6.2L V8 engine. This one could produce 797 horsepower, giving it even more power than the ones that come before it. Over the next few years, the Charger lineup remained mostly the same, gearing up for the next generation.
