During this generation, there are two engines to choose from: the 6.8L gas V8 and the 6.7L Power Stroke diesel. Both are solid options, but they are built for different kinds of truck owners, depending on how much work you expect your truck to do.
If towing is what really matters to you, then the 6.7L Power Stroke diesel is the engine you'll want to look for. This engine comes with a maximum towing rating of 22,000 pounds, making it a dependable choice for contractors, handymen, and anyone pulling heavy trailers. This is thanks to the engine making 500 horsepower and 1,200 lb-ft of torque.
If you don't want to tow that much, then you can look for the 6.8L V8, as it produces 400 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque, making it better suited for lighter towing and everyday use, with a max tow rating of 12,000 pounds.
Over the years, the model didn't see much change, given the nature of what it is used for. The one area that we look at is the Tremor. This was last seen in 2014 for the F-150, but this time it's on the larger Super Duty.
This brought some off-road fun to a model that is normally designed for work. Some features that you'll find are four-wheel drive, 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac maximum-traction tires, off-road running boards, and large skid plates.
