While not a true "first generation", the name was on hiatus for 30 years, so the odds of finding an original model is slim. Moving on to the nameplate you are more likely to find, this one hit the roads in 2022, and when it did, it made quite the impression. Notably, Car and Driver stated that the Grand Wagoneer is a "serene ride on long highway slogs", and has a "gorgeous and gigantic interior". If this sounds like something you need, then look no further.
On the topic of serene rides, this model does come with a decent gas milage. In the EPA's testing, they found that this model gets 17 MPG combined. While not the highest on the market, for a vehicle as massive as this one, you won't find better. When breaking it down, you'll get 15 city miles, and 21 highway miles, making this a decent family roadtrip vehicle.
The Grand Wagoneer comes with two engines to pick from. These are the 6.4L V8, and the 3.0L I6. If you're wanting something that outputs the most power, then the twin turbo I6 is the way to go as it makes 510 horsepower. This is also the most efficient one to look for.
If you can't find a model that is equipped with the I6, then the V8 is still decent, just not as powerful, nor efficient. This engine makes 471 horsepower, and comes with an EPA rating of 15 MPG combined.
Moving on to the interior, you'll find that it comes packed, especially in its debut. For those who don't need 8 seats, and 7 will more than suffice, you can look for models that are equipped with the second row passenger seats. This makes it so that there's no awkward arm contact that drives your kids mad, or keeps execs riding comfortably.
Inside the Grand Wagoneer, you'll find that its tcch is top of the line as well. This model comes with a 12-inch touchscreen for the entire lineup, which sits on a 10.3-inch touchscreen that controls the AC. For those wanting a bit more, then you can opt for a higher-end model which comes equipped with a 10.3-inch screen for the passenger.
Much like a movie theater, the screens don't end there. The second row passengers gain access to their own 10.3-inch screen in between the seats, but if that's still not enough, then you can look for a vehicle that is equipped with two 10.1-inch entertainment screens. This is perfect for families who want something more than just another SUV.
Over the next few years, the model didn't see much change as it is pretty great as is. But in 2025, Jeep did add another creature comfort that is desirable. This is the inclusion of seat-memory settings. For families who have more than one driver, this will make it easy to get in, and go, without you needing to spend more time than you have to mess with the seats.
