Hitting the roads in 2016 for the second generation, the Clubman stepped it up a notch, coming with a bit more power than in the years before. When looking at the engine options, you'll find that two are offered. The base engine being the 1.5L I3, making 134 horsepower, and 162-lb-ft of torque. While the stronger engine is the 2.0L I4 that makes 189 horsepower, and 207 lb-ft of torque.
If you're someone who just wants to spend less time, and money at the pump, then we recommend the 1.5L. This is because the EPA tested it, and found that it gets 28 MPG combined. Which is still able to hang with some of the more modern vehicles hitting the market.
Sticking to tradition, the Clubman had a massive area on the center of the dash. Once reserved for analog tech, it is now home to the 6.5-inch infotainment screen. But if you're lucky enough to find an 8.8-inch screen with navigation built-in.
Over the next couple of years, the model didn't see much change. But that all changed with 2020. This year saw the removal of the weaker engine, leaving the I4 as the only option. While this is the only option, when tested by the EPA this year, they found it is more efficient than years before. Now coming with a 29 MPG combined rating.
This year also saw the inclusion of Apple CarPlay to the options list, giving you something to keep an eye out for. If you're someone who has an Android, sadly, this model hasn't integrated that just yet.
Starting in 2021, the Clubman saw the return of the manual transmission. While most drivers will opt for the automatic, some people love their manuals, making these ones to look for when on the lot.
When the 2022 models hit the market, Mini realized it would be better if they added the larger screens to all the models, and that's just what they did. All models now come equipped with the 8.8-inch infotainment display, and lane-departure warning.
Over the next few years, the model didn't gain any meaningful changes for the lineup, outside of the "Final Edition Model". When Mini announced this model's discontinuation, they unveiled that they were making retro 1969 models that came with a unique graphic, making it stand out from the rest of the vehicles on the market.
